We’re experienced fabricators of staircase related joinery and typically undertake the production of balustrades, handrails and under stair storage – often as part of a wider remit. For some complex projects with non linear shapes, a site visit with a laser scanner is required.
Everything is meticulously engineered and precision-produced at the Formatio factory in Germany to the agreed designs. The examples below showcase some of our past work, providing a glimpse into the possibilities. Remember, with Formatio, almost anything is possible!
We’ve created stair treads with stair treads with integrated LED lighting. Carefully engineering the depth and placement of channels for LED strips minimises direct visibility, ensuring seamless aesthetics. These treads not only provide safety but also introduce ambient lighting, transforming the staircase into a captivating focal point that enhances the overall ambiance of the space.
Balustrades present a canvas for an interior designer's creativity: in this case we were tasked with creating a balustrade from slatted wood from a locally sustainable source, hand finished for an artisanal appearance.
Our cabinetry skills are well utilised when tasked to make under stair storage. The space under the stairs can be used for display of objects, a mini library, or purely for practical storage needs.
Our 5-axis CNC machine is adept at producing wooden handrails. Wood offers a timeless blend of aesthetics and functionality. Crafted with precision, they provide a sturdy grip and add warmth to the staircase design.
