The project involved an ambitious revitalization of a hotel nestled within a listed building on Berlin’s Museum Island. The designers aimed to harmoniously blend the history of the building with modern luxury across 120 uniquely designed rooms, as well as the lobby, restaurant, and basement club. Formatio proudly won the tender to fabricate and install all interiors.
Formatio prefabricated the interiors in our dedicated factory in 3 phases. Each of the 120 rooms had a unique design requiring individual execution, showcasing an eclectic style that seamlessly married tradition with contemporary flair.
Delivery of the project required meticulous planning, addressing every detail with a thoughtful approach that respected the challenges posed by the listed structure during installation.
By combining digital site surveys with careful 3d modelling of the interiors we were able to preassemble many of the interior objects in our factory before transporting them on the site for rapid installation.
High-quality framed doors, bespoke beds, and elegant dressing tables, were meticulously designed and produced to enhance the individual character of each room.
The lobby, bar, and restaurant serve as dynamic spaces where an eclectic mix of materials comes to life. The striking wall panelling is woven from upholstered belts, illuminated by coloured glass tubes, and complemented by a rich array of textiles and stained wood.
This diverse palette contributes to an overall picture of opulence and sophistication, creating an immersive experience that resonates with the cultural richness of Berlin’s Museum Island.
